Michael Boddington, Managing Director and Lead Consultant

Michael-Boddington-AAC-DirectorMichael Boddington has over twenty-five years of agribusiness experience in the Asia Pacific Region. He graduated from Roseworthy Agricultural College in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Studies. Michael also has a Master of Business Administration from the University of New England.

Since 1988 Michael has been highly engaged with the intensive livestock industry. His career began with PIC, the world's largest swine genetics company. At PIC, Michael was the Asian Business Manager for the Pork Chain Project.

After many years at PIC, Michael moved to Alltech Biotechnology as their North Asia Manager. At Alltech, he was involved with market entry strategies for firms wanting to move into the Chinese market. This contributed to his understanding of marketing, pricing and distribution in China.

In 2007 Michael founded Asian Agribusiness Consulting as a boutique advisory business specializing in Chinese and Asian agribusiness (intensive livestock, feed, and animal health). Since 2007, he has been the lead consultant and project manager for the firm's many research projects, including over 150 animal nutrition, feed and health reports and research. Since founding Asian Agribusiness Consulting, Michael has created over 150 reports for more than 65 different clients.

Combining his experience from PIC, Alltech, and AAC, Michael has created a strong working relationship with many international and Asian firms. With his support network and industry knowledge, he has successfully been involved in a broad range of assignments that enable firms to leverage industry and market information to develop effective business strategies.

Michael currently lives in Beijing, China and undergoes regular trips to Vietnam and the rest of Asia. His China operations are complemented by his basic Mandarin skills.
