Modern Dairy and Shanghai Dairy Group plan to build 3 large scale dairy farms in Shuangcheng, Heilongjiang
Modern Dairy plans to invest USD 131 million to build a dairy farm with capacity of 20,000 cows in Nongfeng Town, Shuangcheng.
Shanghai Dairy Group plans to invest USD 115 million to build 2 dairy farms, one in Xiqin Town, with capacity of 10,000 cows and one in Xingfu Town, with capacity of 8,000 cows
All the 3 farms will adopt state of art farming and management technology
It is estimated that the 3 farms will go into operation in October, 2014; the 3 farms can produce 300 tonne raw milk per day, and all the raw milk will sell to Shuangcheng Nestle.

McDonald’s had targeted to have 100 restaurants in Vietnam
McDonald’s first restaurant in Vietnam called McDonald’s Da Kao opened on February 8. McDonald’s set a target to open 100 restaurants in Vietnam by 2024.
According to the represent of McDonald’s in Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Bao Hoang said, the first McDonald restaurant in Vietnam has 350 seats. Their target to have 100 new restaurants in Vietnam is possible. Theretofore, they will have around 10,000 employees.
Currently, there are 400 restaurants in Philippines, 260 in Malaysia, 195 in Thailand and 150 in Indonesia. Vietnam is the newest market in Southeast Asia.

Supporting VND 3-5 billion for livestock facility
To encourage companies investing in agriculture, Vietnam will support VND 3 billion for each project that invest for livestock large scale concentration by the State budget. Particularly, Vietnam will support VND 5 billion per project for dairy breeding for building infrastructure for waste treatment, transportation, electricity, water, housing, pasture and equipment.
Investors with investment projects in aquaculture are supported VND 100 million for each 100 m3 cages.

Vietnam’s milk market in 2013 and vision 2017
Vietnam’s milk market was strong development in 2013. Specific, the volume of milk has estimated reach 670,000 tonne, equally VND18 billions in 2013. It is forecast to grow to 1,000 tonne in volume, equally VND34, 000 billion in 2017. The volume of milk powder has estimated reach 70,000 tonne, equally VND28, 000 billion. It is forecast to grow to 90, 000 tonne, equally VND48, 000 billion in 2017.
In 2013, Vietnam had imported milk and milk product over USD1 billion, increased by 67.44% compared to 2012.
By 2020, Vietnam will expect reach 500,000 dairy cattle to supply 1 million tonnes milk per year.
