Is this possible? China will become the largest corn buyer in 2021

By AAC

As the eating habit changing, it is said that China corn export volume would exceed Japan, Mexico, and become the largest buyer in 2021.

China was no longer self- sufficient in corn supply five years ago. Before 2009, corn supply could usually satisfy domestic need, except seasons with extreme drought. According to USDA, 2% of Chinese corn consumption depends on export in 2014, and this number is forecasted to reach to 7.2% in 2024.

By then, China will become a huge corn export country, with no doubts, which is exciting good news to USA, Brazil and Ukraine. Labour aging in Northeast China is considered an important reason for decreased corn export.

China corn import is forecasted to exceed Korea in 2018 and exceed Japan in 2021.

The price of live pig is VND 55,000 per kg (USD2.75)

By AAC

From April to now, the price of live pig in the South of Vietnam has increased VND 5,000 per kg to reach VND 55,000 per kg due to scarce supply.

Meanwhile, the price of live pig in the North of Vietnam is lower at VND 10,000 per kg compared with the South; it’s about VND 44,000-45,000 per kg. Therefore, the live pig is transported from the North to the South for providing pork consumption demand.
