Vinamilk purchases 115,300 tons of raw milk from farmers
From January of 2013, Vinamilk has purchased 115,300 tons of raw milk from local farmers throughout Vietnam. This accounted for VND 1.5 trillion, a 10% increase from the same period in 2012. Vinamilk is currently purchasing raw milk at an average price of VND 13,600 per liter. Including a stable milk supply from more than 5,000 Vietnamese farmers with over 460 tons of milk purchased directly everyday, this accounted for over 60% of raw milk by farmers across the country.
Vinamilk also plans to invest in 4 new farms, a total of VND 3,000 billion, in Tay Ninh with 10,000 cows, Ha Tinh with 3,000 cows, Thanh Hoa 1 (Thong Nhat) with 20,000 cows and Thanh Hoa 2 (Nhu Thanh) with 3,000 cows.
