Continued development dairy cattle breeding in Vietnam
In 2012, the total of the dairy cattle in Vietnam had reached 167,000 dairy cattle. By 2020, the total of dairy cattle will raise 400,000 dairy cattle, the total of the raw milk will increase 3 fold compare to 2012, from 381,000 tonne to 1 million tonne.
In Son La province, the total of dairy cattle at Moc Chau district has reached 15,000 dairy cattle, in which has 7,500 dairy cattle produce raw milk. Moc Chau has 45,000 tonnes raw milk yearly. In the 2013, the dairy cattle herd size will estimate increase to 300% compared to 2008.
In Nghe An province, the dairy cattle herd size has reached 35,000 dairy cattle at Nghia Dan district.
In Ho Chi Minh City, there are over 90,000 dairy cattle with high productivity, 4.5 kilogram raw milk per dairy cattle per cycle.
In fact, the Vietnamese raw milk only supplied 35% demands in domestic in spite of increase to 1million tonnes by 2020. So that, the dairy cattle breeding is expecting a new prospect.
