Seafood exports increase throughout 2013
The rising of aquaculture make the agriculture exports to reach USD 27.469 billion in 2013, an 0,7% increasing compared with 2012. Seafood export turnover was estimated at USD 617 million in December 2013, bringing the export value reached USD 6.7 billion this year, a 10.1% increasing over the same period last year. The U.S. market continues to be the largest seafood importer, accounting for 21.89% of total seafood exports of Vietnam.
Shrimp has become the major export items of Vietnam in 2013. The value of shrimp exports could reach USD 3 billion this year, come over the targets USD 2.5 billion was set at the beginning of this year. However basa catfish exports decreased 5% of value and volume exports.
