In 2013, Vietnam whiteleg shrimp exports increase by 47% compared to 2012

Because of the shortage of raw shrimp in the domestic market, Vietnam shrimp business has imported raw shrimp equally over USD128.5 million to seafood processing export.

According to estimate of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam shrimp imports had reached USD170 million in 11 months, in which the whiteleg shrimp reach USD84 million, equally 50% total value.

The total of shrimp imports in 2013 estimate reach USD185 million, increase by 16% compare to 2012, in which the whiteleg shrimp estimate reach USD94 million, increase by 47% compare to 2012.
