Situation of Vietnam seafood in January and target of year 2014
In January, 2014, Vietnam seafood exports were USD552 million, increased by 13.9% year-on-year. The target of USD6.7 billion Vietnam seafood exports will expect achievement.
Currently, the price of black tiger shrimp has reached VND300, 000 per kilogram (type 30 pieces per kilogram), the price of whiteleg shrimp has reached VND170, 000 per kilogram (type 60 pieces per kilogram).
According to General Secretary of Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Mr. Truong Dinh Hoe, while the Vietnam shrimp exports had reached USD3.1 billion in 2013 and will expect to keep in sales in 2014, the Vietnam Tra catfish exports will estimate USD1.6 billion, decrease by 5% year-on-year.
